Technical needs for a Web site
Have you ever wanted to know what a Web Server is? If you do know what it is…do you know how to make your computer a Web Server? This may sound tricky to do but it is really simple. A Web Server is a device that manages network resources. This means that you can create a web site and publish your site online. Just because you have a server doesn’t mean you can do EVERYTHING; there are other types of servers for other various things. For example, there are print servers that allow you to manage many printers. There is a server that lets you perform extra task. Also not every computer can become a web server; computers that become servers have to be faster, hold more memory and disk space. If you have a slow server computer, you would not be able to perform multiple tasks. And if a server computer doesn’t have enough memory or disk space, there is no way you can accomplish much, without a lot of memory space. So if you are planning to make your computer a web server, you need money, speed and lots of memory!
